Lee “Scratch” Perry is a musician, who has been influential in the development and acceptance of reggae and dub music in Jamaica and overseas. Along with producing some of the most influential acts (Bob Marley & the Wailers and the Congos to name but two) in reggae history, Perry’s approach to production and dub mixing was breathtakingly innovative and audacious.
Opening band Soul Spaceship combines hip hop, reggae, funk, rock, house and world rhythms into song formations via ancient alien alchemy. Interplanetary groove messenger DJ QuestionMark is the inspirational force behind the music, which blends beats with live instrumentation. Soul Spaceship is a local band, with members from Ventura and Santa Barbara.
